SUMMARY:Leadership Lunch with Kevin Falcon presented by Commonwealth Financial
DESCRIPTION:The Prince George Chamber of Commerce and Commonwealth Financial are excited to host former Surrey-Cloverdale MLA Kevin Falcon for a Leadership Lunch on July 21st. Join us to hear from the BC Liberal leadership candidate to learn more about his vision for the party's future. \n\n\n\nKevin Falcon was born and raised on the North Shore. He attended high school at Vancouver College and attended SFU. After getting involved with the BC Liberals in the 1990s\, Falcon was elected to be the MLA for Surrey-Cloverdale in 2001\, a position he held until 2013. \n\n\n\nWhen he was first elected\, Falcon was one of the youngest MLAs to serve in cabinet. In his twelve years at the cabinet table\, Falcon held a number of substantial roles including Deputy Premier\, Minister of Finance\, Minister of Transportation\, Minister of Health and Minister of Deregulation. \n\n\n\nAs Transportation Minister\, he oversaw the completion of many major projects including the Canada Line\, Sea to Sky Highway upgrades\, Kicking Horse Canyon Bridge and the new Port Mann Bridge. During his time as Health Minister\, BC was recognized as a leader in wait time reduction as well as a 35% decrease in prescription drug costs. Finally\, as Minister of Finance\, Kevin put British Columbia on a path to balanced budgets. \n\n\n\nAfter leaving politics\, Falcon took on the role as Executive Vice President for Anthem Capital and served on the boards of several non-profits including Canuck Place\, Lions Gate Hospital Foundation and the Streettohome Foundation\, an organization working to house the homeless on the Downtown Eastside. He currently lives in North Vancouver with wife Jessica and two daughters\, Josephine and Rose\, and his cats Lucky and Feather.
