The Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training is pleased to announce a consultation session that will be hosted on October 21, 2013 from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm at the Prince George Chamber office.
This session is one of a series of sessions organized as part of the Small Business – Doing Business with Government Project. The session will be hosted by George Farkas, Assistant Deputy Minister and Executive Lead of the Project.
Each year, the provincial government spends billions of dollars on a broad range of goods and services. Government recently set a goal of increasing small business procurement by 20%. This session will focus on identifying the barriers that small businesses face when selling goods and services to the provincial government and ways to make it easier. Through this direct consultation with small business owners, the tools and supports currently available will be improved. The session will include topics already raised by small businesses, including awareness of the opportunities to sell to the provincial government, the information and resources available to help small businesses with the process, and other innovative ways to cut red tape.
