The Challenges & Solutions in Building Northern Gateway: Speaker Series Luncheon
The Prince George Chamber of Commerce invites you to join us for an informative luncheon with Janet Holder, leader of the Northern Gateway project, as she answers questions, addresses concerns, and share the progress they have made on working towards meeting the conditions.
Canada’s most valuable resource is crude oil, with 99% of all our oil exports going to the United States at discounted prices. With the US becoming less and less dependent on imported energy, finding additional markets for our oil is a vital and pressing issue for all Canadians.
From the beginning, Northern Gateway has worked hard with one goal in mind: to reach new markets by building a safer, better pipeline project. The Joint Review Panel endorsement in December is an important step towards that goal.
As Executive Vice President, Western Access, Janet Holder is responsible for the overall leadership of the Northern Gateway Pipelines Project, providing oversight in advancing the project. Previously, Janet was appointed President, Gas Distribution, Enbridge Inc., a role she held since January 2008. Janet has spent much of her Enbridge career in Gas Distribution, and also held senior roles in Corporate and Liquids Pipelines. Janet serves on the Boards of Saint Elizabeth Health Care and Saint Elizabeth Health Care Foundation (Chair). She was also the 2011 United Way Toronto Campaign Chair and in 2009 and 2011 was named as one of Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 by the Women's Executive Network.
