Keynote Speaker John Gibson

John Gibson has been the President and CEO for the Prince George Airport Authority since July 1, 2009. He comes to Prince George from the Hamilton International Airport, where he has held the position of Vice President of Marketing since 2001. Under his leadership, Hamilton saw tremendous growth in both passenger and cargo business.

In John's three years with the PGAA, financial performance has stabilized as the airport surpasses pre-recession traffic levels.

Prior to Hamilton, he held senior positions in air cargo with Canadian Airlines International, where he was General Manager - Cargo International. In this role, he successfully developed a series of cargo initiatives in Japan, Asia, South America, and the United States.

Prior to Canadian Airlines, John held various positions in Passenger Marketing and Airport and Customer Operations Planning with Pacific Western Airlines.

John has been in the aviation industry for over 40 years with experience in both airline and airport operations, as well as tourism marketing in Hamilton and Prince George.

John holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters of Business Administration from UBC and carries many affiliations in a variety of aviation organizations, including being the Past Chair of the Canadian Airports Council Cargo Subcommittee.

John is currently the Chair of the Canadian Airport Council and sits on the Airport Council International - North America (ACI-NA) Board of Directors, and is the Vice Chair of Tourism Prince George.

John and his wife Corrine have four children and two grandchildren.
